How to Read This Chart
- Find your combined disability rating (10%-100%) in the column headers.
- Find your dependent status in the left column - veteran alone, with spouse, with children, or combinations.
- The number where they meet is your basic monthly rate.
- Add any "Added amounts" if you have more than one child, or your spouse receives Aid & Attendance.
Example: A 70% veteran with a spouse and 3 children under 18 starts at $2,074.45 (spouse + 1 child), then adds $76 for the 2nd child and $76 for the 3rd child = $2,226.45/month.
Why the 2026 Rate Increased
VA disability pay is legally tied to Social Security's cost-of-living adjustment. For 2026, that adjustment was 2.8%, raising the 100% rate from $3,831.30 (2025) to $3,938.58 (2026). This applies automatically - no action needed from veterans already receiving payments.
